#GIFT AD I enjoyed trying the new PG Tips Mellow Tea — it’s smooth, easy to drink, and perfect for a cosy evening in. Here’s how my mellow night unfolded with PG Tips.
One of life’s simple pleasures is a night at home with a steaming cup of tea and a good film.
After taking PG Tips’ quiz to find which of their new blends suited me, I was matched with Mellow Tea.
In the dictionary Mellow is defined as
adjective, mellower, mellowest.
1. soft, sweet, and full-flavored from ripeness, as fruit.
2. well-matured, as wines.
3. soft and rich, as sound, tones, color, or light.
4. made gentle and compassionate by age or maturity; softened.
5. friable or loamy, as soil.
6. mildly and pleasantly intoxicated or high.
7. pleasantly agreeable; free from tension, discord, etc.
I didn’t see myself as particularly mellow until I read that description. Friends often describe me as calm and settled, so the match feels right — minus the “pleasantly intoxicated” line, unless tea and cake count as intoxicating, in which case I’m guilty as charged.
Being mellow is helpful when managing my ME, since it reminds me to rest, stay calm, and focus on recovery. I was unsure which blend would suit me best, but after trying Strong, Rich, Fresh, and Mellow, I can confirm the quiz picked correctly: Mellow fits me perfectly. I’m still working on the “pleasantly agreeable” part, but getting there.

PG Tips Mellow Tea Night In
My mellow night in was wonderfully purple — from the tea packaging to my dressing gown — and I happen to love purple. I began with a hot shower and used a new body wash that smelled fantastic. After getting into my pajamas, I painted my nails, brewed a pot of Mellow Tea, and settled in to watch a girly film.

Ready to watch the movie with my cheeky monkey curled up beside me. Awww — he loves movie nights.

The film I chose was Austenland from my DVD collection. It’s light, silly, and enjoyable — ideal if you’re in the mood for a gentle romantic comedy and enjoy Austen-inspired stories. I made a pot of tea and drank four cups during the movie, which felt just right.

The evening was relaxing and restorative. I fell asleep soon after the film ended and slept very well. The Mellow Tea helped create the calm, cosy atmosphere I needed.
I’m officially a mellow girl now. Thank you, PG Tips, for a blend that helps me unwind and feel genuinely happy.
The pack of Mellow Tea is almost empty — I’ll be buying more.
