This Buffalo Chicken Dip Stuffed Bread turns classic, crowd-pleasing dip into a handheld, shareable centerpiece. Imagine creamy, tangy buffalo chicken mixed with melted cheeses and green onion, packed into a crusty baguette, then brushed with a buttery ranch glaze and baked until golden. It’s ideal for game day, parties, or any gathering where you want a bold, easy appetizer that disappears fast.

The filling is the same satisfying mixture you expect from buffalo chicken dip — cream cheese for richness, shredded chicken for substance, buffalo sauce for heat, and a blend of mozzarella and cheddar for gooey, melty goodness. Instead of serving it in a bowl, stuffing it into bread makes serving tidy and portable. Baking the assembled loaf allows the flavors to meld and creates irresistible browned edges between the slices.

What elevates this recipe is the ranch butter. A simple mix of melted butter and packaged ranch seasoning brushed generously over the top adds savory, herby, slightly tangy notes that play beautifully with the buffalo spice. It creates a garlic-bread-like finish with that familiar ranch tang that keeps people reaching back for more.

Make this for a big game, a potluck, or as a weekend treat. You don’t need complicated tools or long prep—just a bowl, a spoon, and a trusty baguette. Serve warm with extra ranch for dipping if desired.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1½ cups shredded cooked chicken
  • ½ cup buffalo sauce (such as Frank’s Buffalo Wings Sauce)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 large baguette
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon packaged ranch seasoning (or to taste)
  • Chopped parsley, optional, for garnish
  • Ranch dip, optional, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, mozzarella, cheddar, and chopped green onions. Mix until smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Cut the baguette into four roughly equal-length segments. With a long knife, hollow out the inside of each segment, leaving a bit of bread around the edges so the loaf holds its shape. Remove and reserve any loose bread pieces.
  4. Pack the buffalo chicken mixture into each hollowed baguette piece, using a spoon to press the filling in so each quarter is generously filled.
  5. Line up the stuffed quarters on a cutting board so they fit together like the whole baguette. Slice the assembled loaf into 1–2 inch thick pieces while keeping the quarters touching so the slices stay intact.
  6. Carefully transfer the sliced baguette to a sheet of heavy-duty foil about 5–6 inches longer than the loaf, keeping all slices together.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and ranch seasoning. Brush the ranch butter over the top of the bread, letting some of it drip down between the slices for maximum flavor.
  8. Wrap the foil around the bread and bake for 15 minutes. Then unwrap the top of the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned and the cheese is hot and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm alongside extra ranch for dipping.

Notes & Tips

  • Use rotisserie or leftover roasted chicken to save time.
  • Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to control the heat level.
  • For a less spicy version, use mild wing sauce or reduce the buffalo sauce and add a splash of hot sauce only where desired.
  • You can use a regular ranch seasoning packet or make your own ranch blend if you prefer a fresher flavor.
  • If you like extra crispiness, sprinkle a little more shredded cheese on top before the final 5 minutes of baking.
