Last week I shared photos of my crepe myrtles when the buds were just beginning to swell. This week they have opened further, showing more of their delicate flowers and vibrant color.
Across the neighborhood, crepe myrtles are putting on a spectacular display. Trees and shrubs are covered in clusters of blossoms that look like soft puffs of cotton candy, bringing bright pastel hues to streets and gardens.
The blooms vary in shade and size, creating a beautiful mix of color as you walk around town. Their long-lasting flowers and smooth, peeling bark give these trees year-round interest, but spring and summer are when they truly shine.
If you enjoy photographing or simply admiring flowering trees, now is a great time to take a stroll and appreciate the crepe myrtles in full bloom. Their cheerful presence lifts the landscape and adds a splash of seasonal charm to the neighborhood.
